Dear Friends,
As Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), it is my deep conviction that research is the key to any scientific advancement. For this reason, I have established the King Hussein Cancer Research Award in the name of Jordan’s beloved late King, Hussein bin Talal, who was a firm believer in the urgent necessity of cancer research.
The Award will celebrate and support the work of established and promising researchers in the field of cancer from across the Arab world. After all, where would the world be today without history’s great Arab innovators, researchers, scholars and scientists? Their legacy is immeasurable, and it is a legacy we honor today through the King Hussein Award.
It is my aspiration that this award will help to advance cutting-edge research across the region, research that will reflect the specificities of the Arab gene, population demographics, disease burden and other factors that influence the ways cancer manifests itself in our part of the world.
With my best wishes,
Ghida
