Dr. Adhari is an M.D.-Ph.D. and Assistant Professor at Sultan Qaboos University's College of Medicine and Health Sciences. She earned her Ph.D. in Cancer Molecular Prevention from Brigham Young University, USA, and received a prestigious Fellowship in Molecular and Behavioral Cancer Prevention from the National Cancer Institute, Maryland, in 2018. Dr. Adhari’s expertise spans cancer prevention, artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare, and integrating AI into medical education. Dr. Adhari has received several accolades for her research, including the Women in Artificial Intelligence Award in Dubai (2023), the Women in Tech Award for the MENA region (2024), and the HealthTech Award at the FursaTech competition (2024). She was also the first Arab woman to win the International Brain Research Award from France in 2020. Dr. Adhari has made significant contributions to cancer research, with a particular focus on early-onset colorectal cancer, precision oncology, and patient-centered care in the era of AI in health. She leads the “Early-Onset Cancer” Research Group and the “Innovation and AI Applications in Healthcare” Research Group at Sultan Qaboos University. Her work has been widely published, with numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. She is actively involved in interdisciplinary projects using advanced technologies such as Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML); some of her ongoing projects include automating cancer registries, translating discharge summaries, and analyzing radiomic features of liver metastases as predictors of colorectal cancer progression. And, in 2019, she founded "Siyaj," a national cancer awareness program that has garnered national and international recognition for its impactful work in raising awareness about cancer and engaging the population in adopting healthier lifestyles.
