Dr. Hasan Hashem

A diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics, American Board of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation, Dr. Hasan Hashem currently serves as a Consultant at the Department of Pediatrics at King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC). Dr. Hashem’s areas of interest and expertise include Immune Dysregulation Syndromes and Whole Exome Sequencing, allogeneic haploidentical Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation for non-malignant diseases including severe aplastic anemia, and Microbiome and outcomes in allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation. Dr. Hashem has been invited to speak in the Pediatric Review Conference and Jordanian Oncology Society Conference, to discuss Microbiome and Cancer and Microbiome and Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation.

Dr. Hashem is well-known internationally for initiating allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation for a rare disease; deficiency of adenosine deaminase 2 (DADA2). He has led a few initiatives on a huge collaborative effort in 12 countries worldwide to cure DADA2 with a remarkable therapeutic result. His efforts have contributed to KHCC becoming a referral hub for DADA2 patients from all over the world.
